Perhaps in the 21st century, the machines will take over... but you'll have no worries about the ones exhibitied at Southwold Pier. They might look realistic, but these quirky automata of eccentric people, designed by cartoonist and engineer Tim Hunkin, are all coin-operated. The Under The Pier Show (actually, thankfully, on top of the pier) is open amongst the other attractions of the pier from 9am to 5pm.
